Ah what a proud day it is at Avalanche. Our growth now requires structure and so here are the positions open and the description of how things will work.

There are 3 main titles of office. When we reach the membership of 15 villages another 2 Lordships will be offered. You can only hold ONE role of office at a time. If you are accepted and accept the job then you will be expected to fulfill that role. The GL will contact you privately if any concerns arise. The positions (including GL) will run for 4 months from announcement date. At that time there will be a re-election, where all interested parties can once again post applications for office.
Do a good job, and chances are that you will remain in office, if you so desire.
For this first appointment I am assuming role of Great Lord for the first 4 months, and I will be deciding the first 2 LORDS after considering applications. It is intended that the second elections in 4 months will be decided by a 'poll' where members will click the persons name they want to see elected. That will make future events much fairer.
OK enough talk, here are the roles (also in the TW tribal forum).

GREAT LORD:
The overall leader of Avalanche. Responsible for the direction and development of Avalanche and authorizing key changes/decisions which affect it. Has power to over rule certain 'un-polled' choices. Has all priveleges open to them, such as editing forums and changing tribal profile. Also Invites and such.
Desired Person: Very active in TW. Able to communicate regularly with all members when needed. Wise in choices such as invasions and relationships with other players.
Role Status: CLOSED (shamanwolfstone)

LORD OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS:
Responsible for the image of Avalanche among other players/alliances.
Will be first point of contact for incoming messages from tribes and outside players. Will have key role in vetting applicants and sending out invites. Has joint powers for decision making and policy writing with both GL and LOW.
Will have the opportunity to source possible strategic targets among abandoned/inactive villages. Also be asked to map-mark alliances of concern and rogue villages for future referance as a back up the LOW's own duties.
Desired person: A mature thinker, who is literate in english, and willing to use online translation tools to translate-copy-paste messages if neccesary when dealing with non english speakers.
In the event of a larger tribe invading you will also be one to communicate terms of peace with.
Must be active no less than twice-three times per week.

LORD OF WAR:
Yes I know, this ones got you harder than steel you little war mongorer.
But thats not everything. The LOW will not ideally be someone just itching to send armies out against anything with a shitty wall or less troops than us. This is a really responsible role.
In the event of an attack by another village or allied village, then its you we will be expecting to come up with a defensive/offensive strategy.
Of course, with other tribe we do try to negotiate peace terms depending on their might. But failing that its over to LOW to target and organize our villages into co-ordinated attack units.
LOW is responsible for army 'sign ins' here at this forum, and for collecting data at the in-game tribal forums WAR ROOM to keep up to date on the sizes and diversity of our forces.
Any planned military movements MUST be cleared through both L.O.E.A and G.L before being acted upon.
Desired person: Somebody experienced in mmorpgs such as TW. Long term thinker and planner. Able & willing to collect and note info re:armies and also colour mark villages of concern/interest on the map.

RULES:
You may apply for both positions if you wish, but only one will be available to you and The Great Lord will decide which (if any) you will serve as. Great Lords decision is final, so if you prefer one over the other role, apply for that one alone to avoid disappointment.
GL will decide the outcome of the applications 10th september 2008- 10pm GMT (UK?London?Cardiff).
